New anti terrorism legislation is dangerous

"Yesterday's raids, arrests and charges were all conducted under the existing criminal code, as amended last week.
This should not be allowed to cloud thinking about the momentous changes the Federal Government is proposing in bills before the Parliament.
Yesterday's dramatic raids do nothing to explain the need for the 137 pages of the Anti-Terrorism Bill (no.2) 2005, and its 116-page explanatory memorandum, that Howard has put before the Federal Parliament.
